چکیده
Several studies have looked at the development of hinge models to simulate hysteretic response flexure- and shear-critical reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column components from damage initiation onset gravity collapse. However, few been conducted develop similar for older type bond-critical components. First, using existing experimental data, this paper describes calibration simple efficient inelastic as-built retrofitted splice-deficient columns. Subsequently, demonstrate applicability models, seismic performance fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) -retrofitted two- four-story nonductile RC frame buildings with columns are assessed nonlinear dynamic analysis procedures. The results show that may a lower collapse potential than columns, implying in certain cases longer splice length actually worsen performance. According analyses, local retrofitting can significantly improve buildings. Contrary presented study, significant U.S. evaluation methodology buildings, FEMA P-2018, indicates as Modifications proposed P-2018 provisions. modelling approach recommended incorporation into ASCE/SEI 41, engineering practice future research.

Seismic Performance Analysis of FRP Reinforced Concrete Frame Structure
Based on the experimental study for seismic performance of FRP reinforced concrete beam-column joints, two-storey two-span plane frames were taken for examples, in which the static elastoplastic analysis (the pushover method) was carried on the joints of the FRP strengthened concrete frames, and then the comparative analysis was made on seismic performance of RFP strengthened frame structure th...
متن کاملDamage-Based Seismic Performance Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Frames
A damage-based approach for the performance-based seismic assessment of reinforced concrete frame structures is proposed. A new methodology for structural damage assessment is developed that utilizes response information at the material level in each section fiber. The concept of the damage evolution is analyzed at the section level and the computed damage is calibrated with observed experiment...
متن کاملEvaluation of Seismic Response of Concrete Structures Reinforced by Shape Memory Alloys (Technical Note)
Shape memory alloys (SMAs) are unique smart materials that have many advantages, such as ability to resist large strains without leaving residual strains and ability to recover original form. However, the high costs of SMAs have limited their usage. This paper evaluates the behavior of concrete structures equipped with SMAs in an optimal manner as they are being used along the plastic hinge of ...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Seismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Frame Columns Supported with Post-build Wing Walls
Abstract: Six specimens of concrete frame columns reinforced by post-build wing walls on the opposite faces were designed and fabricated to investigate their seismic performance. Axial compression ratio was considered as the critical factor and divided into 0.31, 0.36, and 0.40 before reinforcement. HRB400 steel grade was used to the longitudinal bar and the ratio of longitudinal reinforcement ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Axial Force Variations on Nonlinear Modeling and Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Structures
In order to increase the accuracy of evaluating seismic response of structures, it is critical to conduct dynamic analyses based upon precise nonlinear models being as consistent as possible with the real conditions of corresponding structures. The concentrated plasticity model including one elastic element and two nonlinear spring elements at both ends has been considered within the research c...
